Week of the Classroom Teacher

WHEREAS, teachers throughout Virginia work to promote the inherent rights, education, and well-being of all children; and

WHEREAS, as a crucial part of children’s educational experiences, teachers work side-by-side with parents and administrators every day to provide the best learning environments for their students; and
 
WHEREAS, teachers use their vast skills and talents to help ensure that our children have the resources necessary to become productive citizens and future leaders; and

WHEREAS, the 2009 observance of the “Week of the Classroom Teacher” provides a unique opportunity for citizens throughout Virginia to honor our teachers for their dedication to upholding the highest standards of educational excellence and for their commitment to ensuring that our young people achieve their maximum potential:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Timothy M. Kaine, do hereby recognize October 4-10, 2009 as the WEEK OF THE CLASSROOM TEACHER in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens.
