2013 Governor's Holiday Hoops Classic

Federation of Virginia Foodbanks
The Governor’s Office is pleased to support the Federation of Virginia Food Banks as the “Cause of the Classic.” During the holidays, we all take time to lend some help to those less fortunate and in great need. As such, Governor McDonnell decided to partner with the Federation of Virginia Food Banks to support a state and regional food drive to benefit those struggling to find a reliable source of nutrition. I ask you to join in supporting your local food bank during the holiday season.
The food drive will begin on November 15th and end on December 15th. During this time we ask you to consider making a food or financial donation. We will announce a winner between each matchup before game two of the 2012 Governor’s Holiday Hoops Classic game. In other words, the University of Richmond will be measured against George Mason University and Old Dominion University will be measured against The University of Virginia. I am confident this will be a spirited competition. You can donate on campus or online to support your institutions bid to raise the most in support of the Federation of Virginia Food Banks.
