Statement of Governor Kaine on the Death of Former Delegate Vic Thomas

RICHMOND – Governor Timothy M. Kaine issued the following statement upon the death of former Roanoke Delegate A. Victor Thomas, who died today at the age of 76. The Governor also has directed the lowering of Virginia flags at state facilities until sundown on the day of internment.

“Vic Thomas always spoke for those Virginians who did not have a voice.

“He was a man of great faith who showed the impact that one man, committed to service, can make in a community. He was an example to us all.

“Dot and his family are in our prayers, and in the prayers of a grateful Commonwealth.”
