Governor Kaine Announces Appointments to the Virginia Retirement System Board of Trustees
RICHMOND – Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced appointments to the Virginia Retirement System Board of Trustees. VRS currently serves over 500,000 current and retired public employees.
Paul W. Timmreck of Goochland has been reappointed as Chair of the Board for a term of two years, beginning March 1, 2006, and ending February 28, 2008.
Timmreck received his undergraduate and MPA degrees from the University of Michigan. In 1975, he took a position with Virginia’s Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission, and subsequently served four Virginia governors. Timmreck was Director of Planning and Budget under Governors Charles Robb and Gerald Baliles, and Secretary of Finance for Governors L. Douglas Wilder and George F. Allen.
Timmreck is currently Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University, and has announced his retirement from VCU, effective July 1, 2006.
Marshall Acuff, Jr. of Midlothian has been appointed to serve on the Board as a representative of management assets. His five-year term begins March 1, 2006, and ends February 28, 2011. Acuff succeeds J. Alfred Broaddus, Jr.
Acuff is a graduate of the College of William and Mary and the University of Michigan Graduate School of Business Administration. He began his career at Smith Barney, and started AMA Investment Counsel, LLC in 2001, where he currently serves as president.
Acuff is Past Chair of the Association of Governing Boards of Colleges and Universities, as well as a past Rector of the College of William and Mary Board of Visitors.
