Governor Kaine Announces Appointment Of State Board Of Elections Secretary
RICHMOND – Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced the appointment of Nancy Rodrigues as Secretary of the State Board of Elections.
“Nancy Rodrigues has demonstrated successful leadership at DRIVE SMART Virginia, and she has a strong understanding of the legislative process,” said Governor Kaine. “She enjoys bipartisan support from members of the legislature as she takes this post at the State Board.”
The appointment of the Secretary of the State Board of Elections is a fixed-term of four years lasting through one gubernatorial election.
Rodrigues, of Surry, was previously a government relations consultant for Goldman & Associates, the Virginia Association of Driver Education and Traffic Safety, the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Alion, Inc. For nearly nine years, she served as executive director of DRIVE SMART Virginia, a public-private non-profit partnership that works to reduce traffic-related injuries and fatalities on Virginia’s roadways.
Rodrigues is a graduate of Rutgers University with a degree in Political Science. She completed course work in graduate studies in Government with an emphasis on Public Administration and Philosophy at the College of William and Mary.
