Veterans Legal Services Month
WHEREAS, every Veterans Day is a time for pause and remembrance in honor of the citizens of the Commonwealth who served in the armed forces of the United States; and
WHEREAS, Virginia is home to over eight hundred thousand veterans; and
WHEREAS, the Commonwealth is forever indebted to the service provided by these brave men and women; and
WHEREAS, the lawyers and legal professionals of the Commonwealth can provide invaluable legal assistance and support to allow the Commonwealth’s veterans to resume or carry out their lives in a manner befitting the noble and honorable service Virginia’s veterans proudly provided; and
WHEREAS, it is the duty of all Virginia lawyers to provide pro-bono legal service and it is fitting and proper to accord official recognition of the need to provide Virginia’s veterans with legal services;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert F. McDonnell, do hereby recognize November 2010 as VETERANS LEGAL SERVICES MONTH in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens.
