Governor Northam Announces Administration Appointments

RICHMOND – Governor Ralph Northam announced additional appointments to his Administration today.

Office of the Governor

David Cary, Chief of Staff to First Lady Pamela Northam
David Cary has been appointed as Chief of Staff to First Lady Pamela Northam. He most recently served on the Northam for Governor campaign. David previously managed civil rights, healthcare, and environmental issue campaigns in Hawaii, Texas, and New Hampshire. He is a Chesterfield County native and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. 

Danielle Campbell, Confidential Assistant to First Lady Pamela Northam
Danielle Campbell has been appointed as Confidential Assistant to First Lady Pamela Northam. She previously served in the McAuliffe administration as a Governor’s Fellow for the Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry and Programs Assistant to the Secretary of Public Safety. Danielle, a Loudoun County native,  earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Norfolk State University, where she served as Vice President of the Student Government Association and Chair of Virginia21.

Chidimma “Chidi” Uche, Special Assistant to the Secretary of Education
Chidimma “Chidi” Uche has been appointed as Special Assistant to the Secretary of Education. Previously, she taught in inner-city and suburban classrooms in Arlington Public Schools and DC Public Schools. While there she collaborated with education stakeholders in Virginia, around the country, and abroad on topics of diversity and inclusion, digital tools and technology, and social and emotional learning. Chidi, a native of Ann Arbor, Michigan, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in French Language & Literature and a Masters of Teaching from The University of Virginia.

Meryem Karad, Confidential Assistant to the Secretary of Natural Resources
Meryem Karad has been reappointed as Confidential Assistant to the Secretary of Natural Resources. Previously, she worked for ExxonMobil and the American Thyroid Association. A native of Springfield, Virginia, Meryem received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Philosophy, Policy and Law from the University of Virginia.
