Governor Northam Statement on Death of Army Captain Andrew Ross

RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam issued the following statement today on the death of United States Army Captain Andrew Ross of Lexington, Virginia.

“Pam and I are deeply saddened by the news that Army Captain Andrew Patrick Ross of Lexington was killed November 27, 2018, along with Army Sergeant 1st Class Eric Michael Emond of Brush Prairie, Washington, and Air Force Staff Sergeant. Dylan J. Elchin of Hookstown, Pennsylvania, when their vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device in Andar, Ghazni Province, Afghanistan. Their loss serves as a stark reminder of the dangerous work our men and women in uniform are doing across the globe.

“We offer our deepest condolences to their families and friends, and I know I speak on behalf of all the citizens of a grateful Commonwealth in expressing our appreciation for their service and respect for their sacrifice.

“I ask all of my fellow Virginians to offer prayers for the loved ones of the fallen during this difficult time.”
