WHEREAS, window film ensures safe, secure environments for home and vehicle owners, public buildings, and retail establishments, and provides significant energy savings; and
WHEREAS, the majority of all window film in the world is manufactured in the United States and offers significant benefits to employment, energy savings, health, and reduced carbon footprints; and
WHEREAS, window film helps screen out dangerous solar rays from affecting the health of commercial drivers to help protect them from skin cancer and solar glare; and
WHEREAS, the window film industry contributes to a strong economy in Virginia by providing consumers and businesses a cost-effective means of saving energy and creating job opportunities in communities throughout the Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, the window film industry is committed to the education of the public about all benefits of window film through the International Window Film Association, a nonprofit trade association; and
WHEREAS, National Window Film Day is an opportunity to acknowledge the men and women in the industry who manufacture, distribute, and install window film, and to educate the public about the industry’s many contributions to our society;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ralph S. Northam, do hereby recognize April 30, 2018, as NATIONAL WINDOW FILM DAY in our COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens.
