By virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution of Virginia in the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, there is hereby officially recognized:

Healthcare Security and Safety Officer Week

WHEREAS, the safety of all Virginians is important to the well-being of our Commonwealth's citizens, families, and communities; and

WHEREAS, healthcare security and safety officers are a dedicated and courageous group of individuals who serve citizens and healthcare facilities every day; and

WHEREAS, healthcare security and safety officers serve on the front lines each day, ensuring that healthcare facilities remain safe, welcoming, and supportive environments, and their role extends beyond security to include reassurance, assistance, and stability during times of need; and

WHEREAS, they manage challenging situations with professionalism, compassion, and courage, often without recognition, demonstrating tireless commitment to the patients, families, and healthcare teams they support; and

WHEREAS, healthcare security officers frequently go above and beyond their duties, demonstrating courage, empathy, and resilience in the face of unpredictable challenges; and

WHEREAS, healthcare security officers often work around the clock, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to maintain uninterrupted safety in hospitals, clinics, and care centers; and

WHEREAS, healthcare security and safety officers enhance emergency response capabilities that make their communities strong and more prepared during times of disaster; and

WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Virginia recognizes the tireless dedication of healthcare security and safety officers and the protection that they provide for our healthcare community;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glenn Youngkin, do hereby recognize October 12–18, 2025, as HEALTHCARE SECURITY AND SAFETY OFFICER WEEK in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens.
