WHEREAS, for thousands of years, acupuncture and herbal medicine has had a long, rich history intertwining with the United States’ comprehensive, traditional medical system in order to diagnose and treat illness, prevent disease, and improve well-being; and
WHEREAS, practitioners of acupuncture and herbal medicine are dedicated to the highest standards of professionalism and personal commitment, and maintain these standards through continued education; and
WHEREAS, millions of Americans seek the services of acupuncturists each year; and
WHEREAS, it is vital that those in need of medical services are educated on all their options and seek competent and professional care;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ralph S. Northam, do hereby recognize October 24, 2021, as ACUPUNCTURE AND HERBAL MEDICINE DAY in our COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens.
