WHEREAS, the well-being, health, and safety of families is important to all Virginians; and
WHEREAS, parents provide the nurturing and love essential to the healthy development of our Commonwealth’s children; and
WHEREAS, parents teach their children how to cope with the main challenges and pressures of today’s society; and
WHEREAS, parents play a role in instilling a sense of right and wrong and teach their children to treat others with respect; and
WHEREAS, we recognize that parents are necessary for producing happy and productive children; and
WHEREAS, Parent’s Day highlights the importance and value of parents in rearing their children to the benefit of their families, communities, and our great Commonwealth and nation;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ralph S. Northam, do hereby recognize July 25, 2021, as PARENTS’ DAY in our COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens.
