Virginia Voluntary Protection Programs Virginia Star Worksite


WHEREAS, a skilled, safe, and healthy workforce is vital to the continued prosperity of our Commonwealth; and

WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry, in cooperation with private businesses, established the Virginia Voluntary Protection Programs to promote effective safety and health programs and to recognize businesses that successfully implement and maintain them; and

WHEREAS, through the dedication and hard work of its management and employees, the Printpack Williamsburg facility in Williamsburg, Virginia has demonstrated leadership in the area of occupational safety and health; and

WHEREAS, the Virginia STAR award is the highest designation offered by the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry and is a testament to Printpack Williamsburg’s strong commitment to worker safety and health; and

WHEREAS, companies that participate in Virginia Voluntary Protection Programs will benefit from fewer injuries and illnesses, reduced workers’ compensation costs, increased productivity, and improved employee morale and motivation to work safely;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ralph S. Northam, do hereby recognize PRINTPACK WILLIAMSBURG as a VIRGINIA VOLUNTARY PROTECTION PROGRAMS VIRGINIA STAR WORKSITE in our COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens.
