Governor’s Flag Order in Memory and Respect of Former U.S. Representative Thomas J. Bliley, Jr.

In accordance with the authority vested in me as Governor, I hereby order that the flags of the United States of America and the Commonwealth of Virginia be flown at half-staff on all state and local buildings and grounds in the Commonwealth of Virginia in memory and respect for U.S. Representative Thomas J. Bliley, Jr. who represented Virginia’s 3rd Congressional district from 1981-1993, Virginia’s 7th Congressional District from 1993-2003, and served as Richmond’s Mayor from 1970-1977.

I hereby order that the flags shall be lowered at sunrise on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, and remain at half-staff until sunset, Tuesday 21, 2023.
