Certified Public Accountants Week

By virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution of Virginia in the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, there is hereby officially recognized:

WHEREAS, Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) play a vital role in the fiscal health and economic well-being of Virginia’s citizens, businesses, and institutions, which is critical to the continued vitality and prosperity of the Commonwealth of Virginia; and,

WHEREAS, CPAs are innovative and strategic counselors that provide accounting and auditing services, business and management advisory services, individual and corporate tax and financial planning guidance as well as litigation and forensic consulting; and,

WHEREAS, CPAs in Virginia draw upon their unique knowledge and experiences to provide sound, reliable financial counsel to protect and promote the growth of businesses, the soundness of government operations, the excellence of higher education institutions and the confidence of investors in the Commonwealth and throughout the United States of America; and,

WHEREAS, CPAs in Virginia must maintain high standards of ethics, professionalism, and knowledge by maintaining and enhancing their skills through lifelong continuing professional education; and,

WHEREAS, since 1909, the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) has worked to ensure the CPA profession thrives as a protector of public interest and is known for its dynamic culture of innovation, visionary leadership, trusted expertise and stellar reputation; and,

WHEREAS, the Commonwealth joins VSCPA in recognizing all CPAs for their expertise, valuable services and the positive impact they have in communities and businesses throughout Virginia;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glenn Youngkin, do hereby recognize September 19-25, 2022, as CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS WEEK in our COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of our citizens.
