Strengthen the Spirit of Virginia
By virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution of Virginia in the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, there is hereby officially recognized:
Chronic Disease Awareness Day
WHEREAS, chronic disease affects thousands of individuals throughout Virginia and millions throughout the United States; and,
WHEREAS, the COVID-19 pandemic has further highlighted the importance of spreading awareness, increasing access to early diagnosis and treatment, and providing support to those with hidden and sometimes debilitating conditions; and,
WHEREAS, widespread awareness, increased community engagement and ongoing advocacy is critical to improving patients’ quality of life and access to care; and,
WHEREAS, Chronic Disease Day is intended to raise awareness and advocate for patient-first policies throughout the Commonwealth and the nation;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glenn Youngkin, do hereby recognize July 10, 2022 as CHRONIC DISEASE DAY in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA and call this observance to the attention of our citizens.
