Fleet Reserve Association Week

By virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution of Virginia in the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, there is hereby officially recognized:

WHEREAS, the Fleet Reserve Association is a federally chartered nonprofit organization of active duty, reserve, and retired personnel of the United States Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard; and

WHEREAS, chartered on November 11, 1924, the Fleet Reserve Association is dedicated to the defense of the United States of America and to serving the needs of all members of the United States Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard; and

WHEREAS, the members of the Fleet Reserve Association are dedicated to upholding the ideals of freedom and democracy, while working to make a difference in the lives of fellow Americans; and

WHEREAS, members of Fleet Reserve Association Branches sponsor programs that promote strong families, community involvement, and democracy; and

WHEREAS, during Fleet Reserve Association Week, November 10-16, 2024, the Fleet Reserve Association will hold its Centennial Celebration to honor those who have devoted their lives to the service of their country by advocating for legislation to enhance the welfare of those who serve in the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard; and

WHEREAS, the citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia deeply appreciate the courage and dedication of our past and present armed forces and recognize the crucial role that they have played in the protection of American life and property and the preservation of the freedoms and values that Americans cherish; and

WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Virginia recognizes our dedicated American veterans for their lasting contributions to our society and extends best wishes for a successful and rewarding meeting;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glenn Youngkin, do hereby recognize November 10-16, 2024, as FLEET RESERVE ASSOCIATION WEEK in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens.
