Internal Audit Awareness Month

By virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution of Virginia in the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, there is hereby officially recognized:

WHEREAS, internal auditors are independent, objective professionals who help organizations improve their operations and accomplish their objectives; and,

WHEREAS, internal auditors provide a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, controls, and processes for public and private organizations; and,

WHEREAS, internal auditors analyze their findings and advise organizations, board members, and management in ways to maintain, correct, or improve their operations; and,

WHEREAS, internal auditors can investigate, discover, and fix processes that may otherwise have risk of inappropriate reporting and even fraud;

WHEREAS, internal auditors promote accountability, productivity, and the improvement of management controls in public and private entities; and,

WHEREAS, Internal Audit Awareness Month is an opportunity to acknowledge the efforts and contributions of internal auditors to the residents, employees, and citizens of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glenn Youngkin, do hereby recognize May 2022 as INTERNAL AUDIT AWARENESS MONTH in our COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of our citizens.
