Proclamation List- Medical Laboratory Professionals Week

By virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution of Virginia in the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, there is hereby officially recognized:

Medical Laboratory Professionals Week

WHEREAS, originating in 1975, Medical Laboratory Professionals Week is an annual celebration of medical laboratory professionals and an opportunity to increase public awareness of the essential role that these medical professionals play in supporting the health of individual patients and the public; and

WHEREAS, medical laboratory professionals are essential members of the healthcare team, working tirelessly every day to provide vital test results for the prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment of disease; and

WHEREAS, through dedication to continually improve testing methods and reporting standards, clinical laboratory professionals make a vital contribution to the quality of health care; and

WHEREAS, the role of the medical laboratory professional should be recognized as critical to maintaining high standards of healthcare in Virginia; and

WHEREAS, during Medical Laboratory Professionals Week and throughout the year, we pay tribute to the hard work and commitment of those who, through attention to patient safety and laboratory testing, provide high-quality care and contribute to the overall health of our Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glenn Youngkin, do hereby recognize April 20-26, 2025, as MEDICAL LABORATORY PROFESSIONALS WEEK in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all of our citizens.
