By virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution of Virginia in the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, there is hereby officially recognized:

National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

WHEREAS, the health and safety of all Virginians is important to the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of our Commonwealth's families and communities; and  

WHEREAS, Virginia is the proud home of more than 19,000 dedicated law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line to keep our communities safe; and  

WHEREAS, these officers stand as leaders and teachers, educating the community about the importance of public safety; and  

WHEREAS, we appreciate the extraordinary efforts and sacrifices made by officers and their family members daily, in order to protect our schools, workplaces, roadways, and homes; and  

WHEREAS, National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day is an opportunity to show our support for law enforcement;    

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glenn Youngkin, do hereby recognize January 9, 2023, as NATIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT APPRECIATION DAY in our COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of our citizens.
