Nephrology Nurses Week

By virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution of Virginia in the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, there is hereby officially recognized:

WHEREAS, nearly 37 million Americans suffer from kidney disease and every year many Virginia citizens, including children and adults, are diagnosed with kidney disease; and

WHEREAS, the depth and breadth of the nephrology nursing profession meets the emerging kidney disease needs of the population of Virginia; and

WHEREAS, nephrology nurses function as educators, direct caregivers, and coordinators to help patients effectively manage their health issues; and

WHEREAS, Nephrology Nurses Week celebrates and honors the selfless work that nephrology nurses perform each day to maintain the health of thousands of individuals with kidney disease; and

WHEREAS, citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia celebrate nephrology nurses for advancing patient care and reducing the incidence of kidney disease;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glenn Youngkin, do hereby recognize September 8-14, 2024, as NEPHROLOGY NURSES WEEK in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens.
