By virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution of Virginia in the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, there is hereby officially recognized:

Pretrial, Probation, And Parole Supervision Week

WHEREAS, pretrial services, probation, and parole officers are vital to public safety and the fair administration of justice; and

WHEREAS, these professionals supervise individuals on pretrial release, probation, and parole, helping to promote accountability, successful reentry, and community stability; and

WHEREAS, they serve with integrity and professionalism, protecting public safety while respecting the rights and dignity of those under supervision; and

WHEREAS, they provide courts with information and assessments that support informed decision-making and help ensure court appearance and community safety; and

WHEREAS, their expertise, dedication, and partnerships with community organizations help connect individuals to employment, education, treatment, and other resources that support rehabilitation and reduce recidivism;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Abigail D. Spanberger, Governor, do hereby recognize July 19–25, 2026, as PRETRIAL, PROBATION, AND PAROLE SUPERVISION WEEK in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens.
