School Psychology Week

By virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution of Virginia in the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, there is hereby officially recognized:

WHEREAS, all students should be in an engaging, welcoming, and safe educational environment where they learn best; and,

WHEREAS, the mental health and well-being of students are vital to success in school and life; and,

WHEREAS, healthy learning climates and strong relationships among students, families, and teachers support community connectedness; and,

WHEREAS, school counselors and psychologists are specially trained to foster and deliver, in the school and community, a continuum of mental health services and academic supports that lower barriers to teaching and learning; and,

WHEREAS, alongside parents and teachers, school counselors and psychologists help children thrive by nurturing their individual strengths across both personal and academic endeavors; and,

WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Virginia recognizes the vital role that school counselors and psychologists play in the personal and academic development of our nation's children;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glenn Youngkin, do hereby recognize NOVEMBER 7-11, 2022 as SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY WEEK in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of our citizens.
