Proclamation List- Skilled Nursing Care Week

By virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution of Virginia in the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, there is hereby officially recognized:

Skilled Nursing Care Week

WHEREAS, every day the staff of Virginia's skilled nursing facilities, including direct caregivers, activity professionals, administrators, admissions staff, dining and nutrition services staff, environmental professionals, and more, show remarkable dedication and compassion to providing high-quality care for their residents; and

WHEREAS, Virginia’s skilled nursing facilities provide vital care for our elders and citizens of any age with physical or intellectual disabilities; and

WHEREAS, each person in the long-term care and post-acute care community contributes to improving the quality of life of all residents by providing them a home away from home that allows them to share cherished moments to make the essential connections they need to thrive; and

WHEREAS, the Commonwealth commends the devoted individuals in these facilities for the heroic contributions they make to support the dignity and well-being of the residents and families they serve; and

WHEREAS, National Skilled Nursing Care Week is a time to honor the dedicated care provided in skilled nursing centers every day, and this year’s theme, “Tapestry of Life,” celebrates the rich tapestry of stories and experiences alongside those who reside and work within skilled nursing care centers to celebrate this special week;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glenn Youngkin, do hereby recognize May 11-17, 2025, as SKILLED NURSING CARE WEEK in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all of our citizens.
