Take Your Legislator to School Month

By virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution of Virginia in the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, there is hereby officially recognized:

WHEREAS, local school boards and state legislators must work together to promote high expectations and transparency that helps Virginia’s students become productive, hardworking individuals; and,

WHEREAS, a best-in-class education system is essential to the economic prosperity of Virginia, and ensures that we continue to make social, technological, and scientific advancements; and,

WHEREAS, it is critical that all students in Virginia are afforded the opportunity to receive an excellent education, and partnership between parents, teachers, school boards, legislators and education leaders is paramount to our students’ educational success; and,

WHEREAS, Virginia School Boards Association’s Take Your Legislator to School Month serves as an opportunity to promote productive relationships between state legislators and their local school boards to best serve Virginia’s students; and,

WHEREAS, Take Your Legislator to School Month acknowledges the hard work and dedication of the teachers and education leaders serving Virginia’s public schools; and,

WHEREAS, during this month of recognition, Virginians are encouraged to have a renewed commitment to putting our students first;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glenn Youngkin, do hereby recognize NOVEMBER 2022 as TAKE YOUR LEGISLATOR TO SCHOOL MONTH in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of our citizens.
