By virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution of Virginia in the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, there is hereby officially recognized:

Town of Glade Spring 150th Charter Anniversary

WHEREAS, the Town of Glade Spring, Virginia, proudly celebrates its sesquicentennial in the year 2025, marking a historic milestone that is both significant and worthy of recognition; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Glade Spring was officially incorporated in 1875, originally established on 780.8 acres in Washington County, strategically positioned along the Norfolk and Southern Railroad and near Interstate 81, which have been vital to its growth and development; and

WHEREAS, Glade Spring has long held a prominent place in the region as a hub for shipping, agriculture, and industry, contributing to the prosperity and development of eastern Washington County; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Glade Spring continues to experience steady growth, with the development of new subdivisions, beautiful homes, modern amenities, and an influx of new residents who help to shape and enrich the community; and

WHEREAS, the town is proud to commemorate this milestone with a year-long celebration, including events such as Charter Day festivities, a spectacular 4th of July celebration, concerts in the park, athletic competitions, parades, and various programs that celebrate and benefit all the sons and daughters of Glade Spring;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glenn Youngkin, do hereby recognize March 22, 2025, as the TOWN OF GLADE SPRING 150TH CHARTER ANNIVERSARY in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all of our citizens.
