By virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution of Virginia in the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, there is hereby officially recognized:

Veterans and Military Families Month

WHEREAS, November is National Veterans and Military Families Month; and,  

WHEREAS, Virginia is home to approximately 690,000 veterans and their families; and, 

WHEREAS, more than 154,000 active duty service members, reservists, National Guard, and more than 75,000 military spouses are stationed in Virginia; and, 

WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Virginia has more than 200,000 military children; and, 

WHEREAS, we recognize and honor these veterans and military families who serve alongside of the members of our armed forces, as they protect our country from harm; and,  

WHEREAS, we respect and acknowledge the sacrifices veterans and military families make on a daily basis, and the extraordinary contributions they make to the nation, to the Commonwealth, and to their communities; and, 

WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Virginia calls upon all of its citizens to show their support for veterans and military families during the month of November;  

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glenn Youngkin, do hereby recognize November 2022 as VETERANS AND MILITARY FAMILIES MONTH in our COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens.
