By virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution of Virginia in the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, there is hereby officially recognized:

Window Film Day

WHEREAS, window film, when professionally installed on existing windows, aids in the saving of significant energy and the reduction of carbon emissions; and

WHEREAS, window film is effective in reducing high energy costs and positively impacts both consumers and businesses, allowing them to save money on their energy bills and reduce peak demand for electricity when utilities are most challenged; and

WHEREAS, window film helps to screen out dangerous UV rays to help protect skin from cancer and eyes from glare; and

WHEREAS, window film provides job opportunities for people to serve their communities; and

WHEREAS, nearly 80 percent of all window film in the world is manufactured in the United States by leading companies, offering significant economic benefits at all levels; and

WHEREAS, April 30 is recognized as National Window Film Day in recognition of the citizens who manufacture, distribute, and install window film, as well as the International Window Film Association that educates society about the many benefits of window film;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glenn Youngkin, do hereby recognize April 30, 2023, as WINDOW FILM DAY in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of our citizens.
