Strengthen the Spirit of Virginia
By virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution of Virginia in the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, there is hereby officially recognized:
Women's Entrepreneurship Day
WHEREAS, women entrepreneurs are a significant part of the growing economic infrastructure of the Commonwealth of Virginia and through unwavering dedication, inspiring missions, and transformative initiatives are making a positive impact on their communities; and
WHEREAS, there are over 300,000 women-owned businesses in the Commonwealth that are essential to our Commonwealth’s economic vitality as they support families and provide careers to Virginians across the Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Virginia is ranked number two in the nation for the number of women-owned firms; and
WHEREAS, Women’s Entrepreneurship Day was launched at the United Nations ten years ago, was celebrated by women in 144 countries, and now recognizes, embraces, and celebrates women entrepreneurs in Virginia; and
WHEREAS, the Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization tirelessly promotes and supports women with tools and strategic partners to grow and enhance their businesses; and
WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Virginia values entrepreneurial businesses and seeks to celebrate growth in business ownership among women across all communities;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glenn Youngkin, do hereby recognize November 19, 2023, as WOMEN’S ENTREPRENEURSHIP DAY in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens.
